Position: Sole Legal Counsel – In-House Commercial Property Solicitor
Role Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Location: Greater London, Kent (predominantly office based with some scope for home working)
Salary Guide: £65,000 – £100,000 per annum (depending on experience)

About the Role

As Sole Legal Counsel, you will be responsible for managing all legal aspects of the business, with a strong focus on Commercial Property, landlord & tenant including commercial leases and broader property-related legal matters. You will work closely with senior stakeholders, ensuring compliance and managing risk while providing strategic legal advice for the business.

Responsibilities include:

  • Commercial Property: landlord & tenant including commercial leases and licenses, rent reviews, lease renewals, dilapidations, acquisitions, and sales.
  • Property, Litigation & Compliance: Residential ASTs, debtor legal management, section 8 & 21, managing dilapidation claims, service charge disputes, planning permissions, and compliance with new property legislation.
  • Finance & Contracts: Assisting with bank and insurance negotiations and documentation.
  • Employment & HR Support: Providing legal advice on employment matters as required.

Minimum Requirements:

  • UK qualified solicitor with a minimum of four years PQE (up to senior level).
  • Strong commercial property background, with experience handling landlord & tenant including commercial leases.
  • Ideally some exposure to residential property, housing/property litigation and employment law (advantageous).
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and provide pragmatic, commercial legal advice.
