We are recruiting a Head of HR on behalf of one of our transport clients for a 6‑month fixed‑term contract, based full time on site in Edinburgh. This is a senior, hands‑on role requiring an experienced HR leader to oversee the full HR function and partner closely with senior stakeholders in a complex, operational environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic and operational HR leadership across the organisation
- Lead employee relations, including complex disciplinary and grievance cases
- Ensure compliance with UK employment law and HR best practice
- Oversee recruitment, performance management, reward, and workforce planning
- Lead organisational change, restructures, and consultation processes
- Manage and develop the HR team
- Advise senior leaders on all people‑related matters
Person Specification
- Proven experience at Head of HR or senior HR leadership level
- Strong knowledge of UK employment law
- Experience in transport, operational, or regulated environments
- Confident managing complex employee relations and change programmes
- CIPD Level 7 (or equivalent)
- Credible, pragmatic, and comfortable working in a fully on‑site role
