Are you an experienced legal professional looking to join a fast-growing, innovative business in the energy sector? We are seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to play a key role in supporting the development and commercial management of energy generation and efficiency projects across the UK and EMEA.
About the Role
This newly created position offers the opportunity to work closely with commercial, technical, and finance teams, providing pragmatic, business-focused legal advice. You will lead on drafting and negotiating complex construction, procurement, and commercial contracts, ensuring projects are bankable and risks are effectively managed. The role also involves supporting strategic partnerships, corporate transactions, and dispute resolution.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, negotiate, and execute construction, procurement, and PPA contracts.
- Advise on legal and commercial risks, implementing mitigation strategies.
- Support strategic alliances, collaboration agreements, and M&A activities.
- Manage external counsel and oversee contractual disputes and litigation.
- Monitor relevant legislation and assist with compliance across projects.
About You
- UK-qualified Solicitor with 3–5+ years’ PQE.
- Strong experience in commercial contracts, construction, and project finance.
- Background in energy projects (renewables, CHP, solar PV, infrastructure).
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work proactively in a fast‑paced, growing business.
