A growing consultancy business in the North West is creating a senior contracts paralegal role to sit alongside its fantastic in house Legal Counsel.
The contract volume is high and varied, and this is not a support role in name only. You would own the day to day contract work, from first review through to execution and renewal, with legal input available on the points that need it. Three days a week, hybrid, office in Merseyside.
Day to day:
- First pass review of incoming contracts, flagging what needs legal input and dealing with the rest
- Drafting and amending NDAs, standard terms, consultant appointments and lower value agreements
- Supporting on NEC and JCT agreements, framework agreements and public procurement paperwork
- Running the contract database, trackers and renewal dates so nothing is missed
- Maintaining templates, playbooks and standard clause libraries
- Handling contract queries from teams across the business
- Preparing execution copies, managing signatures and keeping the filing in order
- Supporting the Legal Counsel on corporate, company secretarial and ad hoc commercial matters
What matters to them:
- A few years of hands on contracts experience, in house or in practice
- Confident reviewing and amending commercial contracts without close supervision
- Familiarity with construction or professional services agreements is an advantage, though not essential if the contracts grounding is strong
- Organised and methodical, with the discipline to keep trackers and templates current
- Clear communicator who can deal directly with non legal colleagues
- Able to prioritise sensibly across a three day week
- Commutable to Merseyside
