My client is seeking an experienced Organisational Design Consultant to lead a critical transformation project. This is a pure OD brief , with a focus on designing optimal structures and workflows across multiple departments and operations simultaneously.
The Role:
The successful consultant will be responsible for assessing the current organisational setup, identifying inefficiencies, overlaps, and leadership gaps, and providing practical, strategic solutions to improve efficiency, drive cost savings, and support future growth.
There is an established HR team in place to manage all consultation and redundancy processes, so the focus here is firmly on organisation design strategy and delivery .
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and redesign departmental and operational structures
- Analyse and address role overlaps, leadership gaps, and inefficiencies
- Develop clear workflows and optimal layers/levels of responsibility
- Engage and influence functional heads and directors across the business
- Provide actionable OD recommendations aligned to business goals
- Support the implementation of new structures in collaboration with internal teams
Candidate Profile:
- Proven track record in delivering large-scale organisation design projects
- Deep expertise in operating models, workforce planning, and structural change
- Comfortable working in complex, multi-site environments
- Strong influencing skills and the ability to challenge and advise senior stakeholders
- Hands-on, solutions-focused and commercially astute
Location & Commitment:
- Based in Greater Manchester
- Requirement to be on site 2–3 days per week
