A growing Innovation Reliefs team is looking for an Associate Director specialising in software R&D. The team advises a wide range of UK businesses - from early-stage digital firms to large multinationals - on identifying, evidencing and securing R&D tax incentives. The work is weighted toward complex software engineering claims with direct access to CTOs, engineering leads and technical project teams.
You’ll lead technical interviews, shape claim methodologies, review technical narratives, handle HMRC enquiry responses and oversee delivery across multiple concurrent projects. There is also a clear BD element: spotting opportunities, supporting pitches and acting as a senior point of contact for key clients across the software and digital sectors.
You’ll need:
- Strong computer science background or prior software development experience
- Solid R&D tax technical knowledge, including claim preparation and enquiry work
- Ability to write clear technical descriptions of software projects
