Solicitor/Associate – Complex Claims | Manchester or Preston
A well-established, full-service law firm is seeking an experienced Complex Claims Solicitor to join its Insurance team, with flexibility across Manchester/Preston office.
This is a genuine step-up opportunity for a Defendant EL/PL specialist who wants exposure to catastrophic loss and high-value work, without losing the work-life balance that comes with a regionally-rooted practice.
The Role
- Handle a varied caseload of Defendant Insurance claims, primarily Employers' and Public Liability matters arising from injury
- Support Partners on complex and catastrophic loss matters
- Advise on complex liability, contractual and indemnity issues
- Provide strategic guidance directly to insurer clients
- Negotiate, mediate and litigate to achieve optimal outcomes
- Represent clients in court or liaise with counsel where needed
- Collaborate closely with Associates, Senior Associates and Partners across the team
What They're Looking For
- Qualified Solicitor or CILEX equivalent, 3–5 years PQE
- Solid working knowledge of CPR and insurance litigation process
- Case management system experience (e.g. PfW)
- A track record of running your own caseload and hitting fee targets
- Excellent client care, communication and organisational skills
- Sports or construction sector claims experience
- High-value/catastrophic loss exposure
- An appetite for business development and client networking
