Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Technical Application Analyst to provide technical ownership and architectural leadership for the Maxavera and Primavera P6 platforms, supporting enterprise-wide project scheduling, project controls, and portfolio management capability. This role will act as the technical authority for the application stack, ensuring both platforms are designed, configured, maintained, and developed in line with enterprise architecture and governance standards. You will play a key role in stabilising the current environment, mitigating Primavera P6 obsolescence risks, and supporting the roadmap toward a long-term strategic scheduling and portfolio management solution. Working closely with Product Owners, Solution Architects, Digital Delivery teams, and senior stakeholders, you will ensure both platforms remain secure, performant, compliant, and aligned with evolving business needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the technical authority for Maxavera and Primavera P6, providing architectural oversight across application, infrastructure, and integration layers.
- Ensure platforms are implemented and configured in accordance with approved enterprise architecture and design standards.
- Review and sign off as-built configurations, ensuring alignment to technical design and enterprise standards.
- Maintain ownership of platform configuration management and technical integrity across environments.
- Support tactical solutions to address Primavera P6 obsolescence and stability risks.
- Contribute to the design and implementation of the future-state architecture and strategic roadmap.
- Identify opportunities to optimise, streamline, or modernise the platform landscape supporting project controls and portfolio management.
Application Lifecycle Management
- Provide technical leadership across the application lifecycle, including upgrades, patching, configuration management, and enhancements.
- Ensure ongoing maintenance aligns with enterprise architecture, security, and operational requirements.
Operational Stability & Service Management
- Collaborate with business and digital teams to manage incidents, problems, and service requests, ensuring service levels are achieved.
- Lead root cause analysis and technical remediation of complex platform issues.
- Support operational improvements and platform reliability initiatives.
Governance, Compliance & Documentation
- Produce and maintain technical architecture, configuration, and platform documentation required for governance and Change Review Board processes.
- Ensure platform changes follow agreed governance frameworks, architecture standards, and delivery processes.
Agile Delivery & Cross-Team Collaboration
- Work within Agile delivery teams, contributing to sprint planning, reviews, demos, and retrospectives.
- Provide technical guidance to delivery teams and support continuous improvement across delivery and platform processes.
- Partner closely with Solution Architects, Product Owners, Engineers, and wider Digital teams.
Skills & Experience Required
- Strong technical expertise supporting Primavera P6 in enterprise environments.
- Solid understanding of P6 architecture, configuration, deployment, and lifecycle management.
- Experience supporting Maxavera or similar enterprise portfolio/project management platforms.
- Experience designing and supporting enterprise application architectures across application, database, and infrastructure layers.
- Strong knowledge of system integration, environment management, and configuration control.
- Experience working within IT service management frameworks (incident, problem, change).
- Familiarity with governance processes, Change Review Boards, and technical assurance.
- Experience working in Agile delivery environments.
- Experience supporting enterprise project controls, scheduling, or portfolio management platforms.
- Exposure to application modernisation, platform replacement programmes, or legacy transformation initiatives.
- Experience working in complex regulated environments such as defence, infrastructure, aerospace, energy, or engineering.
