An exciting opportunity to help shape and grow an expanding to join as Head of HR Consultancy Department, providing advisory service to the Law Firm's clients.
LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a well-established law firm to recruit an experienced HR Consultant to join head its growing Employment team HR Consultancy Department in Hove. The work and clients are a mix of contentious & non-contentious matters advising businesses and employees.
This is an excellent opportunity for an HR professional with strong employment law and business acumen employee relations expertise who enjoys providing trusted advice, working closely with clients and building long-term relationships a Consultancy Department with the firm's support and business development initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert HR advice and support across a broad range of employee relations matters.
- Head the firm's HR Consultancy Department and provide expert HR & Employment Law advice to the law firm's clients.
- Engage in and work with the firm's business development initiatives, with the aim of growing the consultancy & employment law department.
- Advise clients on disciplinary, grievance, absence management and performance issues.
- Provide guidance on employment law queries, HR best practice and people-related matters.
- Draft and review HR policies, procedures, contracts and other HR documentation.
- Advise on settlement agreements and related employment matters.
- Build strong, trusted relationships with clients and provide commercially focused HR solutions.
- Advise the firm's clients on a range of employment law matters.
- Act as the firm's primary employment law specialist, with access to an external consultant for more complex cases.
About You
We are looking for an experienced HR professional who can confidently operate in a client-facing, advisory environment and who has a real drive to develop, grow and lead the HR Consultancy services using business development initiatives with the full support of the firm.
You will ideally have:
- Proven experience in an HR Advisory, HR Business Partner or HR Consultant role.
- A commercial drive to develop your career, lead a department and engage in business development initiatives.
- Strong knowledge of employment law and employee relations.
- Excellent communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills.
- The confidence to advise managers, business leaders and clients independently.
- A commercial, pragmatic and consultative approach.
- The ability to build rapport quickly and deliver an exceptional level of client service.
- A willingness to contribute to participate in business development and support the continued spearhead the growth of the HR advisory service.

- Hybrid working: 3 days in the office and 2 days from home for full time (60% of working time for part-time).
