We are seeking experienced Senior Security Engineers to join a growing cybersecurity function focused on enhancing security operations, threat detection and incident response capabilities. As cyber threats continue to evolve, this role will play a key part in strengthening security monitoring, improving operational efficiency through automation and analytics, and ensuring alignment with recognised cybersecurity standards and best practices.

Working within a collaborative security team, you will be responsible for the implementation, optimisation and ongoing management of advanced security monitoring and response capabilities, helping to protect critical digital services and infrastructure. The Role

As a Senior Security Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing and enhancing security monitoring and incident response capabilities across a complex digital environment. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Implementing, configuring and managing the Palo Alto Networks XSIAM platform to ensure optimal performance and security outcomes.
  • Developing and maintaining security policies, detection rules and platform configurations to improve threat detection and response capabilities.
  • Integrating XSIAM with existing security tooling and information systems to automate security operations and workflows.
  • Monitoring, investigating and analysing security alerts and incidents to identify trends, vulnerabilities and emerging threats.
  • Supporting the development and continuous improvement of Security Operations Centre (SOC) processes and procedures.
  • Collaborating with internal technology teams and external partners to share threat intelligence and strengthen security awareness.
  • Providing technical cybersecurity expertise and guidance to technology and business stakeholders.
  • Maintaining awareness of emerging cyber threats, security technologies and industry best practices to continually improve security operations.
  • Producing reports and presenting findings on security incidents, trends, risks and operational effectiveness to senior stakeholders.
  • Contributing to the delivery of strategic security initiatives and the ongoing enhancement of cyber resilience.

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Proven experience working within Security Operations, Cyber Defence or Security Engineering environments.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Palo Alto Networks XSIAM or similar SIEM/XDR platforms.
  • Experience implementing security monitoring, detection engineering and incident response solutions.
  • Knowledge of threat intelligence, threat hunting and security analytics techniques.
  • Experience integrating security platforms and automating security workflows.
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity frameworks, controls and monitoring standards.
  • Experience investigating and responding to security incidents within complex enterprise environments.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
  • The ability to analyse security data, identify risks and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Current SC Clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain it.
