We're looking for an experienced Accounts Senior to join our expanding team in the city. This is a combined office-based and client-facing role, working in teams under the guidance of senior staff and partners.
You will spend half of your time on financial accounts and half on management accounts, as well as preparing draft tax computations (finalisation handled by our dedicated tax team). The role involves working on a diverse portfolio of clients, including small and medium-sized privately owned limited companies, LLPs, partnerships, and sole traders.
Your focus will be on producing accurate draft accounts with minimal outstanding queries and delivering well-presented accounts in a timely manner. You will prepare accounts from a wide variety of client records, ranging from basic prime books and records through to computerised accounting packages.

Responsibilities
- Prepare accounts from client portfolio within specified budget and timescales.
- Supervise junior staff when supporting the Accounts Senior.
- Produce draft accounts and well-presented files for review.
- Prepare VAT returns and management accounts.
- Assist with ad hoc specialist assignments.
- Handle general office-based duties as required.
Requirements
- Fully qualified ACA or ACCA with practical experience in a UK accountancy practice.
- Strong competency in full accounts production from prime books to software packages.
- Experience managing and leading a portfolio of sizable clients across different sectors.
- Ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines.
- Proficient in Xero and QuickBooks.
- Flexible attitude and ability to prioritise workloads.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong working knowledge of Excel ProâAudit, CCH, and Microsoft Office.
