We’re looking for an experienced Construction Lawyer to join a high-performing in-house legal team supporting major infrastructure projects across the UK. This is a unique opportunity to work on large-scale, complex projects that are central to the UK’s transition towards a more sustainable, low-carbon future. You’ll play a key role in enabling the delivery of critical infrastructure, advising on projects ranging from millions to multi-billion-pound investments.
You’ll provide strategic, high-quality legal advice on construction and engineering matters across a broad portfolio of infrastructure projects.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading on legal strategy for major construction and infrastructure projects
- Drafting and negotiating a range of construction contracts (NEC, FIDIC, EPC, frameworks, guarantees, etc.)
- Advising on procurement regulations and contract compliance
- Supporting project teams during delivery, including contract interpretation and claims
- Working closely with internal stakeholders and senior leadership
- Managing external counsel and ensuring value-driven legal support
- Contributing to risk management and continuous improvement initiatives
- Delivering training and guidance to business stakeholders and legal colleagues
About You
- Qualified solicitor or barrister with a minimum of 6 years PQE in non-contentious construction law
- Strong experience supporting infrastructure or large-scale project delivery
- Skilled in drafting and negotiating complex commercial contracts
- Ability to lead, influence, and communicate effectively across all levels
- Experience in regulated sectors or procurement law is beneficial (but not essential)
- A collaborative mindset and passion for driving impactful projects
