We’re looking for an experienced Construction Lawyer to join a high-performing in-house legal team supporting major infrastructure projects across the UK. This is a unique opportunity to work on large-scale, complex projects that are central to the UK’s transition towards a more sustainable, low-carbon future. You’ll play a key role in enabling the delivery of critical infrastructure, advising on projects ranging from millions to multi-billion-pound investments.
You’ll provide strategic, high-quality legal advice on construction and engineering matters across a broad portfolio of infrastructure projects.
Key responsibilities include:- Leading on legal strategy for major construction and infrastructure projects
- Drafting and negotiating a range of construction contracts (NEC, FIDIC, EPC, frameworks, guarantees, etc.)
- Advising on procurement regulations and contract compliance
- Supporting project teams during delivery, including contract interpretation and claims
- Working closely with internal stakeholders and senior leadership
- Managing external counsel and ensuring value-driven legal support
- Contributing to risk management and continuous improvement initiatives
- Delivering training and guidance to business stakeholders and legal colleagues
About You
Qualified solicitor or barrister with a minimum of 6 years PQE in non-contentious construction law. Strong experience supporting infrastructure or large-scale project delivery. Skilled in drafting and negotiating complex commercial contracts. Ability to lead, influence, and communicate effectively across all levels. Experience in regulated sectors or procurement law is beneficial (but not essential). A collaborative mindset and passion for driving impactful projects.
