Overview

Our client is a leading organisation based in the Northamptonshire region now seeking to hire a Legal Counsel with experience in non-contentious construction contracts to join their In-House legal function. The role offers a hybrid working model with flexibility, alongside an attractive bonus and benefits package.

Role details

  • Position: In-House Legal Counsel, Construction
  • Role Type: Permanent (Ideally full-time, part-time will be considered)
  • Location: Northamptonshire (Hybrid & Flexible Working)
  • Salary Range: £60,000 to £100,000 per annum (DOE) + Excellent Bonus & Benefits

Responsibilities

  • Advise the business on a broad range of non-contentious construction matters, ensuring contracts are structured, negotiated, and executed effectively.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate construction contracts including JCT and NEC contracts, consultancy agreements, collateral warranties, and associated agreements.
  • Develop and maintain contract precedents, templates, and guidance notes to streamline processes.
  • Keep abreast of legislative and regulatory developments affecting construction and infrastructure projects.

Qualifications

  • Qualified as a UK Solicitor or Barrister
  • Experience and background in non-contentious construction law, gained in-house or at a law firm.
  • Working knowledge of JCT and NEC contracts.
  • Experience in reviewing, negotiating and drafting commercial agreements.
