Legal Counsel – Global Commercial Work

The Role
You’ll be responsible for a broad range of commercial and operational legal work, including:
- Managing and negotiating commercial agreements across multiple service lines, including recruitment solutions, contract workforce models, outsourced projects and partnership arrangements.
- Leading negotiations with client-side legal and commercial teams to refine terms, assess risk, and produce well‑structured agreements.
- Providing international advice, helping the business understand labour, employment and compliance requirements in various jurisdictions.
- Supporting expansion activity, advising on compliant engagement routes and commercial models for new markets and service offerings.
- Handling disputes and claims, ensuring the business is protected in matters involving clients or contingent workers.
- Monitoring legal and regulatory developments and presenting key updates to senior leadership.
- Advising on data protection issues relating to contractor and client operations.
- Driving improvements in legal processes, including the use of technology and AI tools for efficiency.
- Delivering training to new starters and key stakeholders on legal processes and engagement frameworks.

What They’re Looking For
The ideal candidate will have:
- A law degree plus recognised legal qualification (UK or international)
- 3+ years’ in‑house experience, ideally within global recruitment, workforce solutions or a related sector
- Strong exposure to drafting and negotiating commercial contracts
- Excellent analytical ability and attention to detail
- Confidence operating in fast‑moving environments
- Strong communication skills, able to advise senior stakeholders with clarity
- A collaborative mindset and willingness to share knowledge
- Curiosity and openness to new technology and ideas
- Bonus: Understanding of contingent workforce compliance and strong English drafting skills
