The Opportunity:
We are partnered with a global law firm looking to bolster their dedicated Planning team in Leeds with the addition of a skilled Planning Associate. This is a standout opportunity to join a team handling projects of huge significance, with values to reflect this (mandates secured with pipelines of work at £60b). These recent contracts are in place for a number of years, guaranteeing a healthy, diverse future pipeline of work. The team handle a good mix of private and public work across sectors including water, hydrogen, energy, data & AI, and regeneration. The breadth ensures a dynamic workload and the opportunity to build deep sector expertise.
Key areas of work include:
- Advising on infrastructure and town planning matters, including large-scale development projects.
- Supporting nationally significant infrastructure projects (NSIPs) and strategic planning initiatives.
- Drafting and negotiating planning agreements, including Section 106 agreements.
- Providing planning input on major real estate and energy transactions.
- Advising on planning strategy, risk, and regulatory compliance.
- Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams across real estate, construction, and environmental law.
Candidate Requirements:
- Due to the nature of the work, candidates must have experience in infrastructure planning and town planning.
- Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales, with 1-4PQE and a strong foundation in planning law.
- A track record of delivering high quality work in a fast-paced, high-performance environment.
- A proactive, commercially minded approach with excellent communication skills.
