A Top 100 UK law firm with a strong presence across the North is looking for a newly qualified solicitor to join its Corporate team in Leeds city centre.
You would be working on live M&A and investment work from the outset, sitting alongside partners rather than a layer removed from them. The client base runs from ambitious owner-managed businesses through to national and international groups, so the deals are varied and allows you to gain important broad experience at this stage in your career.
The work:
- Company and business sales and purchases
- Debt and equity fundraisings and investments
- Taking instructions directly and drafting the documents that follow
- Sitting in on negotiations and client meetings from early on
- Pulling in tax, property, employment and other specialists as deals require
- Client training and network building, so you start growing a following of your own
What they are looking for:
- A newly qualified solicitor, with a corporate seat during training
- Sharp analytically, with the judgement to spot what matters on a deal
- Organised and methodical, comfortable juggling several matters at once
- A confident communicator, with clients and with colleagues
- Genuine enthusiasm for transactional work and the drive to build a career in it
Why it is worth a look:
This is a firm with a real record of investing in junior lawyers and growing them into partners, which matters more at NQ than almost anything else. Both the firm and this team are actively growing, so there is momentum behind the team you would be joining.
