Legal Counsel (12-Month Contract) Fully Remote | 4 Days Per Week | Salary or Day Rate Considered An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Legal Counsel to join a growing UK technology and Saa S business on a 12-month maternity cover contract.

This innovative organisation provides software solutions and professional services to a broad range of corporate and public sector customers across the UK.

With a collaborative and commercially focused legal team, this role offers genuine variety and the chance to become a trusted advisor across the business.

Reporting into senior leadership and working closely with sales, commercial and operational teams, you'll play a key role in supporting complex commercial transactions while helping the business navigate legal risk in a pragmatic and solutions-focused way.

The Role As Legal Counsel, you will take ownership of a wide range of commercial legal matters, including: Drafting, reviewing and negotiating Saa S agreements, software licences, platform agreements, supplier contracts, professional services agreements and reseller/partner arrangements.

Supporting the sales and account management teams to negotiate customer terms and accelerate deal completion.

Advising on liability, indemnity, contractual risk allocation and procurement requirements, including public sector contracts and frameworks.

Providing guidance on data protection matters, including UK GDPR compliance, data processing agreements and international data transfers.

Advising on intellectual property issues, software licensing and the protection of business-critical assets.

Working with senior stakeholders to identify, assess and mitigate legal and commercial risks.

Managing relationships with external legal advisers where required.

Contributing to the development of contract templates, policies and internal legal processes.

About You We're keen to speak with commercial lawyers who enjoy working closely with stakeholders and taking a practical approach to legal problem-solving.

You will ideally have: Strong commercial contracts experience with the ability to confidently negotiate and advise independently.

Previous exposure to Saa S, software licensing or wider technology-related contracts.

A sound understanding of data protection and intellectual property considerations within a technology environment.

The confidence to communicate complex legal issues clearly and commercially to non-legal stakeholders.

A pragmatic approach to balancing legal risk with business objectives.

The business is open regarding PQE level, with lawyers around 5 years' PQE and above likely to be well suited.

Applications are welcomed from both private practice and in-house lawyers with relevant commercial experience.
