IT Application Project Manager – Fractional Contract (Outside IR35)
We are seeking a hands-on IT Application Project Manager to support a UK and European team on a fractional basis. This is a 3-day-per-week contract, Outside IR35, although some flexibility will be required to attend key calls or meetings on other days where necessary.
This is a delivery-focused role suited to an experienced IT Project Manager with around 5+ years of experience in application delivery, business applications, or IT support environments. You will take ownership of application enhancement projects, system rollouts, and change initiatives across a multinational manufacturing organisation.
Key Responsibilities
Project Delivery & Application Enhancements
- Support the planning, coordination, and delivery of new application rollouts and system enhancements.
- Manage defined workstreams or end-to-end application projects, ensuring delivery against agreed timelines, scope, and budget.
- Maintain project plans, manage risks and dependencies, and provide regular stakeholder reporting.
- Coordinate testing, deployment activities, and successful transition into business-as-usual support.
Change Management
- Manage and implement major application change requests while ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
- Support change adoption through effective communication, user engagement, and clear implementation planning.
Stakeholder & Vendor Management
- Work closely with internal business users across UK and European locations to understand local and regional requirements.
- Build effective relationships with third-party vendors, suppliers, and support partners.
- Collaborate with senior IT stakeholders to contribute to the execution of the European application strategy within the wider global IT organisation.
- Operate effectively within multinational and multicultural teams.
Training & Documentation
- Create and maintain user guides, system documentation, and training materials.
- Deliver end-user training for new systems and enhanced application functionality.
Qualifications & Experience
- 5+ years’ experience in application support, business applications, IT project delivery, or application delivery roles.
- Essential experience working within manufacturing or industrial environments.
- Exposure to the food manufacturing industry or understanding of food safety standards would be highly advantageous.
- Proven experience delivering application rollouts, enhancements, and business change initiatives.
Required Technical & Professional Skills
- Strong working knowledge of the Microsoft ecosystem, including Power Platform, SharePoint, and Dynamics.
- Demonstrable project delivery capability, including project planning, risk management, issue resolution, and stakeholder reporting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with experience operating across multicultural and multilingual environments.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced operational setting.
- A proactive, structured, and solution-focused approach to problem solving.
French language skills would be highly advantageous.
