I am partnering with a leading national organisation to recruit a Senior HR Business Partner, a key leadership role supporting a large, geographically dispersed operational workforce across the UK.

Trade Union and Industrial Relations experience is essential.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the HR Director, you will act as a trusted strategic partner to senior operational leaders, providing expert HR guidance across multiple locations. You will lead the development and delivery of people strategies that support business performance, operational effectiveness, leadership capability, and workforce resilience. You will also lead and develop a small HR team, ensuring a high-quality and commercially focused HR service is delivered across the function.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with senior operational leaders to develop and deliver strategic people plans
- Lead workforce planning, succession planning, talent development, and organisational effectiveness initiatives
- Support large-scale organisational change and transformation programmes
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with recognised Trade Unions
- Lead negotiations, consultations, and dispute resolution activities
- Drive leadership development and employee engagement initiatives
- Support organisational design and workforce restructuring projects
- Utilise workforce data and analytics to support decision-making
- Ensure compliance with employment legislation and HR best practice
- Promote a positive, high-performing, and people-focused culture
About You
You will be an experienced Senior HR Business Partner with a proven track record operating within a unionised, operational environment. Experience within the following sectors would be highly advantageous:
- Logistics
- Transportation
- Distribution
- Supply Chain
- Manufacturing
- Utilities
- Other large-scale operational or regulated environments
You will bring:
- Significant Senior HR Business Partner experience within a complex organisation
- Strong Trade Union and Industrial Relations expertise
- Experience supporting multi-site operations across the UK
- Proven experience leading organisational change and transformation programmes
- Strong workforce planning and organisational development capability
- Previous people leadership experience
- Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills
- CIPD Level 5+ (Level 7 desirable)
