We are working with a large national utilities company to recruit a Construction Lawyer on an initial 6‑month contract.

Key responsibilities & qualifications:

  • Qualified Solicitor with current practising certificate.
  • Experience drafting contracts and negotiating commercial agreements of varying complexity, with a particular focus on energy solutions (solar, battery), new energy services products, optimisation services and propositions.
  • Experience with construction contracts (JCT, NEC, FIDIC) and commercial agreements (EPC, PPAs, O&M, procurement agreements).
  • Pragmatic and clear advice focused on delivering solutions.
  • Interpretation of and advice on regulatory and compliance requirements, balancing risk and commercial objectives.
  • Managing external counsel effectively.
  • Understanding of the commercial priorities of the business and driving outcomes in the simplest effective manner.
  • Awareness of the external marketplace, regulatory and political environment.
  • Knowledge of Net Zero and enthusiasm to learn and contribute to the company’s strategy in this area.
  • Creative thinking and looking at problems from different perspectives.
