I am currently working exclusively with an established and highly regarded law firm, seeking a Criminal Defence Solicitor (at all level) to join their busy and growing team. This firm is known for its strong criminal defence practice, client-focused approach, and long-standing presence in the field.
This is an excellent opportunity for a solicitor who is passionate about criminal law and looking to join a supportive and experienced team handling a wide range of criminal matters.
Role Overview
You will manage your own caseload of criminal defence files, represent clients at the police station and Magistrates’ Court, and prepare cases for Crown Court hearings. The role involves both Legal Aid and private work, with opportunities for professional growth and ongoing development.
Key Responsibilities
- Attend police stations to advise clients (including out-of-hours rota)
- Conduct advocacy in Magistrates’ Court
- Prepare and manage cases proceeding to Crown Court
- Provide expert legal advice across a broad range of criminal offences
- Liaise effectively with clients, counsel, and third parties
- Ensure compliance with Legal Aid Agency and SRA regulations
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date file records and documentation
