I’m working with a leading Scottish law firm seeking an experienced Locum Personal Injury Solicitor to support their team during a period of maternity leave and a phased return to work. This is an excellent short‑term assignment for a seasoned litigator who can confidently manage a busy caseload and support a high‑performing team.

The Role

The successful locum will:

  • Manage their own caseload of litigated personal injury matters.
  • Advise clients, gather evidence, progress cases, and deliver high‑quality written work.
  • Support Partners on higher‑value or more complex files.
  • Provide supervision and guidance to junior team members.
  • Build relationships with medical professionals and support organisations as part of the wider client care approach.

Experience in disease work (including asbestos‑related claims) is beneficial but not essential, and strong litigators from other PI backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

Requirements
  • Minimum 8–10 years’ PQE in Personal Injury litigation.
  • Strong experience handling litigated cases independently.
  • Confident drafting, communication, and client handling skills.
  • Experience supervising junior colleagues.
  • Able to work with empathy and professionalism.
  • SRA‑qualified solicitors may be considered but would require SRA approval.
Additional Information

Remote role: based at home with occasional office attendance needed. Secretarial support available via the team support model. Case management: Peppermint.
