A leading UK business is seeking an experienced Qualified Accountant to join their busy finance team on an initial 6-month contract, with the potential to extend. This is an excellent opportunity for a strong technical accountant with proven controllership skills to support the organisation through a critical year-end period and several major finance initiatives.

The Role

Supporting the Head of Finance, you will play a key part in strengthening financial controls and delivering high-quality reporting during a period of change. You will take ownership of key accounting processes and act as a senior point of contact within the department.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing the business’s Banking and Treasury processes
  • Carrying out month-end P&L and balance sheet reviews
  • Leading the finance workstream of an ERP implementation for a newly acquired subsidiary
  • Supporting senior finance stakeholders on a range of large-scale, high-profile projects
  • Preparing detailed cashflow models
  • Overseeing commission calculations and management

About You

We are looking for a hands-on, detail-driven Accountant with strong technical acumen and the confidence to operate in a complex environment.

Key requirements:

  • Qualified Accountant: ACCA, ACA or CIMA
  • Strong controllership and General Ledger experience, ideally within a large or complex organisation
  • Advanced Excel capability and proficiency with major ERP systems
  • Previous experience of systems or ERP implementation
