Role Overview The Finance Manager will play a pivotal role in driving financial performance and supporting strategic decision-making. Working closely with senior leadership, operational teams, and business development, you will provide insight, analysis, and governance to enable sustainable growth and operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities Act as a trusted business partner to senior management and operational teams, influencing decisions that enhance profitability and growth. Lead the development and monitoring of budgets, forecasts, and financial plans. Manage monthly management accounts and statutory reporting, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant standards. Deliver clear, actionable financial analysis to support pricing strategies, project profitability, and investment decisions. Oversee project costing, bid evaluations, and scenario modelling for commercial opportunities. Liaise with external stakeholders including auditors and funding bodies when required. Ensure timely and accurate month-end processes, including reconciliations, accruals, and variance analysis. Candidate Profile Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with strong experience in commercial finance and business partnering. Demonstrated ability to influence operational and commercial decisions through insightful analysis. Solid understanding of project-based revenue recognition, cost control, and profitability analysis within service-driven or research-focused sectors. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Advanced Excel and financial modelling capabilities. Experience with modern ERP systems (e.g., Business Central, NetSuite, SAP) is desirable.
