We are partnering with a global, US-headquartered interactive entertainment and technology business to recruit an Employment Lawyer to join their UK legal team on a 12-month fixed-term basis, with genuine potential to extend or convert to permanent. This is a rare opportunity to step into a high-impact in-house role within a fast-growing, creative, consumer-facing organisation operating across the UK, EMEA and APAC.

Reporting into senior legal leadership and working closely with HR and business leaders, you will act as a trusted advisor on a broad range of contentious and non-contentious employment matters. The environment is fast-paced, international and commercially minded, with real scope to influence how employment risk is managed across multiple jurisdictions. While the core focus is the UK, exposure to EMEA and APAC employment matters (with support from external counsel) will form a key part of the role. This position would suit someone who enjoys being close to the business, taking ownership, and balancing legal risk with commercial pragmatism.

Key Responsibilities
  • Advising HR and senior stakeholders on contentious and non-contentious employment matters across the UK, EMEA and APAC
  • Managing Employment Tribunal claims end-to-end, including strategy, settlement negotiations and instructing external counsel
  • Drafting and implementing employment contracts, policies, handbooks and procedures
  • Supporting on employee relations issues including dismissals, restructures, grievances and disciplinary matters
  • Advising on worker status, working time, discrimination and whistleblowing matters
  • Monitoring and advising on legislative developments and their business impact
  • Driving process improvements and efficiencies in partnership with HR
  • Designing and delivering training to HR and business teams
About You
  • UK-qualified employment lawyer
  • Strong grounding in both contentious and non-contentious employment law
  • Trained in private practice, with either in-house experience or a strong desire to move in-house
  • Confident managing Employment Tribunal litigation
  • Comfortable working in a high-volume, fast-moving environment
  • Commercial, pragmatic and solutions-focused
  • International exposure (EMEA/APAC) is advantageous but not essential
  • Industry experience in tech, media, entertainment or gaming is helpful but not required
