About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to drive growth within the music rights and licensing ecosystem. This role is ideal for a commercially minded professional who understands the complexities of music rights, publishing, licensing, royalties, and rights management, and has an established network across the music industry.

You will identify and develop new business opportunities, build strategic partnerships, and engage with senior stakeholders across music publishers, rights holders, collecting societies, digital platforms, and industry service providers.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Develop and execute business development strategies that drive revenue growth and market expansion
  • Identify, engage, and convert new clients and strategic partners within the music rights and licensing sector
  • Build and manage a pipeline of qualified opportunities from prospecting through contract negotiation and closure
  • Foster long-term relationships with key industry stakeholders and decision-makers
  • Represent the company at music industry conferences, trade events, and networking forums
  • Monitor developments in music publishing, licensing, royalty administration, and rights technology
  • Collaborate with legal, product, and operational teams to develop commercial opportunities
  • Provide market intelligence, competitive insights, and growth recommendations to senior leadership

What We're Looking For

Required

  • 5+ years of experience in business development, partnerships, licensing, account management, or commercial roles
  • Proven success in generating revenue, developing partnerships, and closing complex commercial deals
  • Strong understanding of the music rights ecosystem, including publishing rights, licensing, royalty flows, rights administration, or copyright management
  • Experience managing the full sales cycle from prospecting to contract execution
  • Excellent stakeholder management, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Ability to engage senior executives and industry decision-makers

Highly Preferred

  • Direct experience within music publishing, music rights management, licensing, royalty services, rights technology, collective management organizations, or adjacent music industry businesses
  • Existing network across music publishers, songwriters, rights holders, collecting societies, DSPs, labels, or industry service providers
  • Knowledge of UK and European music rights markets
  • Experience developing strategic partnerships within the music industry
