An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Business Development Manager to join a well-known UK transport and consumer-facing organisation. This is a commercially focused role responsible for driving the growth of ancillary revenue streams through strategic business development, client relationship management, and commercial negotiations. The successful candidate will play a key role in identifying new opportunities, developing partnerships, and delivering sustainable revenue growth across a diverse portfolio of products and services.

The Role

  • Develop and deliver business development strategies to drive revenue growth
  • Identify, research, and secure new commercial opportunities
  • Build and manage a strong pipeline of prospective clients and partners
  • Lead client meetings, presentations, and commercial negotiations
  • Manage the sales process from initial engagement through to contract completion
  • Maintain and grow relationships with existing clients to maximise retention and repeat business
  • Review commercial agreements, contracts, and NDAs, identifying potential risks and opportunities
  • Monitor performance against targets, maintain CRM records, and provide regular commercial reporting
  • Represent the organisation at industry events, exhibitions, and networking opportunities

About You

We're looking for a commercially minded business developer with a proven track record of delivering growth and building successful partnerships. You will ideally have:

  • 5+ years' experience in business development, sales, or a commercial role
  • Demonstrable success in generating new business and driving revenue growth
  • Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience managing complex commercial discussions and negotiations
  • Confidence reviewing and interpreting commercial contracts and legal documentation
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Experience managing third-party suppliers, agencies, or external partners
  • Strong analytical and reporting capabilities
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly in creating presentations and commercial reports
