The Role
You’ll be joining a well‑established national Employment team, working alongside experienced partners and senior lawyers. The role offers exposure to a broad range of contentious and non‑contentious employment matters across a diverse employer client base, with opportunities to advise individuals where appropriate.
Key Responsibilities
- Advising employer clients on HR‑related matters: disciplinaries, grievances, sickness absence, performance, restructures, redundancies, and TUPE.
- Supporting senior lawyers on complex Employment Tribunal cases, including discrimination, whistleblowing and unfair dismissal.
- Drafting and reviewing employment contracts, policies, and settlement agreements.
- Managing your own varied caseload under appropriate supervision.
- Conducting legal research and preparing clear, practical advice for clients.
- Participating in business development initiatives, thought leadership and training sessions.
- Gaining sector‑specific experience, particularly within education clients such as academy trusts and colleges, including exposure to issues such as industrial relations and safeguarding.

About You
The firm is seeking a motivated and collaborative junior lawyer with:
- Qualification as a solicitor, from newly qualified up to 3 years’ PQE.
- A strong interest in employment law, with relevant training or post‑qualification experience.
- Confidence interacting with clients and delivering practical, commercially aware advice.
- Excellent drafting skills and attention to detail.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- A team‑orientated approach and willingness to support colleagues across the department.
