Real Estate Disputes Associate

Manchester | Hybrid working

LHH is working with a highly regarded national law firm to appoint an Associate into its established Real Estate Disputes team in Manchester.

This is an excellent opportunity for a lawyer looking to build their career within a high performing and well supported team that advises on a broad range of complex and high value property disputes. The role offers quality work, strong mentoring, early responsibility and genuine scope for long term progression.

The opportunity

This role sits within a well respected real estate disputes practice that acts for a diverse client base including landlords, tenants, developers, investors, corporate occupiers, financial institutions and insolvency practitioners.

The team advises on a wide range of contentious real estate matters, from day to day landlord and tenant disputes through to large scale, strategic litigation. The work is often high value, commercially significant and, at times, market leading in nature.

You can expect a varied caseload including:

  • lease renewals, both contested and uncontested
  • dilapidations claims
  • break notices
  • forfeiture and possession matters
  • general landlord and tenant disputes
  • wider real estate litigation involving complex and high profile issues

You will have the opportunity to manage your own matters with appropriate support, while also working closely with partners and senior lawyers on more complex cases. This is a team that gives associates meaningful exposure and encourages them to play an active role in client relationships and business development from an early stage.

To be considered for this opportunity, you will ideally have:

  • between 3 and 5 years’ PQE in real estate disputes or property litigation
  • strong technical grounding in landlord and tenant work
  • a proactive and commercially minded approach
  • excellent organisation and time management skills
  • strong communication and client handling ability
  • sound judgement and attention to detail
  • a collaborative approach and the confidence to work closely with colleagues and clients alike

This is an excellent opportunity to join a successful and well regarded team offering:

  • high quality and varied disputes work
  • exposure to complex and high profile matters
  • strong support from experienced senior lawyers
  • genuine responsibility from an early stage
  • a collaborative culture with clear long term career prospects
  • hybrid working, with an expectation of at least three days a week in the Manchester office
