LHH Recruitment Solutions is delighted to be partnering with a major national organisation undergoing a period of significant transformation and growth. This is a rare opportunity for a commercially minded lawyer to join a large, well-respected in-house legal team supporting businesses that deliver essential services to millions of people across the UK every year. With major organisational change underway and an ambitious future vision, you will be joining at an exciting and influential point in the organisation's journey.

The Opportunity

Reporting into senior members of the legal team, you will provide legal advice across a broad range of matters, supporting operational and strategic decision-making within a complex, highly regulated environment. This role offers genuine variety and the chance to build a well-rounded in-house skillset, with exposure to:

  • Commercial contracts and supplier arrangements
  • Procurement matters
  • Regulatory and compliance issues
  • Dispute resolution
  • Corporate governance and risk management
  • Strategic business projects

You'll partner with stakeholders across the organisation, developing into a trusted adviser while working alongside experienced lawyers within a collaborative and supportive legal function.

What Makes This Role Different?

This is far more than a traditional contracts role. The legal team is viewed as a genuine business partner and works closely with operational leaders on matters that have tangible public impact. You'll have the opportunity to take ownership, broaden your experience and build strong relationships across a diverse stakeholder group.

The ideal candidate will combine strong technical ability with excellent interpersonal skills. We're particularly interested in lawyers who bring energy, curiosity and a desire to grow, alongside the confidence to engage and influence a variety of stakeholders.

About You

A UK qualified solicitor with 2+ years' PQE, although applications from candidates outside this range will be welcomed where relevant experience can be demonstrated. You will ideally have:

  • Experience drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial agreements
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • The ability to communicate complex legal issues clearly and pragmatically
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
  • A collaborative and commercially focused approach
  • Previous in-house or regulated industry experience would be advantageous but is by no means essential.

Why Apply?

  • Broad, high-quality in-house legal experience
  • Exposure to senior stakeholders and strategic projects
  • Supportive and collaborative legal team
  • Significant opportunities for development and progression
  • Hybrid working model
  • 25 days' annual leave, increasing with service
  • Generous pension contribution
  • The opportunity to contribute to an organisation delivering services that matter to communities across the UK
