As part of its ongoing strategic growth, the firm is seeking a talented Wills, Tax and Trusts Associate to join its respected Private Client team. This is an excellent opportunity for a mid-level solicitor to take the next step in their career, managing a varied caseload and contributing to the department's continued development and success.

Role Overview

This position is ideal for a solicitor with 3-5 years of post-qualification experience (although this is a guideline) in private client work, particularly focused on wills, estate and tax planning, and trusts. You will be part of a collaborative, forward-thinking team, supported by an established client base and clear pathways for progression.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing a broad caseload of private client work, with emphasis on:
  • Drafting complex and tailored wills
  • Advising on and establishing trusts for estate planning and asset protection
  • Administering estates, including complex or high-value probate matters
  • Advising on inheritance tax planning and mitigation strategies
  • Preparing and registering Lasting Powers of Attorney
  • Supporting clients with succession planning, including business and agricultural assets
  • Delivering high standards of client care with a professional, empathetic approach
  • Ensuring compliance with SRA regulations and current legal frameworks
  • Collaborating with senior solicitors and mentoring junior colleagues
  • Contributing to business development initiatives, including networking and marketing activities

Person Specification

  • Confident in managing a varied and often complex caseload independently
  • Strong technical knowledge of wills, trusts, probate, LPAs, and tax planning
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a client-focused mindset
  • Commercially astute, proactive in identifying opportunities for growth and referral work
  • STEP qualification or working towards it is desirable, though not essential
