This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the Bank’s investment team, supporting origination and execution across a diverse portfolio of transactions. You will play a key role in financial and impact modelling, due diligence, and transaction management, helping to drive investments that align with the Bank’s mission-led approach.

We value diverse experiences and perspectives, and your unique background could be a great addition to our team. We thrive on collaboration, support flexible working, and aim to build a fairer, more sustainable, and innovative Scotland.

About You

  • Experience in investment, transaction advisory, corporate finance, or a related field, with a solid foundation in financial analysis and modelling.
  • A highly motivated self-starter, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Developed analytical and commercial skills, with experience structuring and presenting investment opportunities.
  • A collaborative approach, with the ability to engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • A keen interest in mission-driven investment and the ability to assess opportunities through both financial and impact lenses.
  • A degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field is desirable, as is a professional qualification such as CFA or CA (or working towards one).

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the origination and assessment of investment opportunities, contributing to investment papers and presentations.
  • Develop and refine financial, commercial valuation, and impact models to support decision-making.
  • Conduct research and due diligence to evaluate risks and opportunities in potential transactions.
  • Lead on investment administration, including system updates, document management, and KYC processes.
  • Engage with industry stakeholders to build professional networks and support active deal origination.
  • Contribute to firm-wide initiatives and projects that enhance the Bank’s investment approach.

At the Scottish National Investment Bank, you will find a supportive and collaborative culture, with opportunities for professional growth and meaningful work.

On offer is a salary range of £51-59k, depending on your level of experience. In addition, we offer 30 days annual leave plus public holidays, a 12% non-contributory pension, access to EV and Green Commute Cycle to Work Schemes, volunteer days, and much more. We operate a hybrid working model and are open to discussing flexible working patterns.
