People and Culture Assistant in Uxbridge

Uxbridge Full-Time On-site

At LHC Procurement Group, our purpose is to improve lives and places through quality procurement solutions. We help the public sector deliver better buildings and homes, while using our surplus to create further impact through our Community Benefit Fund.

Behind that purpose are our people.

We believe our colleagues are our greatest asset and we strive to create an environment where people feel supported, valued and able to do their best work. That’s where you come in.

We’re looking for a People and Culture Assistant to join our close-knit team. This is much more than keeping processes moving. You’ll help shape the experience colleagues have with us, from their first interactions as a candidate and their first day as an employee, right through their career with LHC Procurement Group.

What will you be doing?

You’ll be at the heart of our People and Culture team, providing organised, accurate and responsive support across the full employee journey.

Your days will be varied as you’ll:

  • Help create a smooth recruitment and onboarding experience, supporting candidates, new starters and hiring managers.
  • Keep our people records and systems accurate and up to date, helping us make better decisions based on reliable information.
  • Support key moments in our colleagues’ careers, including probation reviews, development conversations, learning and offboarding.
  • Help coordinate engagement surveys and other activities that give our colleagues a voice.
  • Support learning and development events and internal programmes.
  • Help us improve our ways of working through supporting the implementation of our comprehensive People and Culture strategy, system development and other projects.
  • Be a friendly and helpful first point of contact for everyday People and Culture queries.

You’ll also have the opportunity to support the ongoing development of our people systems, reporting and processes, including work connected with an HR system implementation.

What are we looking for?

You’ll enjoy organisation, people and variety. You’re likely to be someone who notices the details others might miss, takes a clear pride in getting things right and finds fulfilment through making colleagues' working lives easier.

You’ll bring:

  • Experience in an HR/People administration or coordination role within a busy professional environment.
  • Experience supporting recruitment, from advertising roles through to onboarding new colleagues.
  • Confidence using recruitment and HR information systems.
  • Effective personal organisation plus skill and capability to manage priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Clear, friendly approach to all communication - both written and verbal.
  • Well developed attention to detail and confidence working with data and records.
  • An understanding of confidentiality, data protection and UK employment law.
  • A proactive, collaborative approach and the confidence to find practical solutions when something needs fixing.

Why join us?

Join a purpose-led organisation with a 60-year history. Our People and Culture strategy centres on collaboration, professional development and individual wellbeing. You’ll benefit from a supportive culture, career development opportunities and benefits that help you thrive at work and beyond.

What you'll get

  • 29 days' holiday plus bank holidays — with the option to buy more and your birthday off
  • Discretionary annual bonus
  • £300 annual wellbeing allowance (via a portal, taxable)
  • Private Medical Insurance and Health Cash Plan after probation (taxable)
  • Enhanced maternity and paternity pay (after one year's service)
  • 1.5 days' personal volunteering leave, plus team volunteering opportunities
  • £1,000 a year individual training budget for your professional development after probation
  • Generous pension arrangements

We'd encourage you to include a cover letter with your application — it helps us get a sense of you beyond what's typically covered in a CV.

Please don’t wait to apply! We’ll be reviewing applications as they come in and inviting suitable candidates to interview throughout the advertising period. The process will involve a formal two-stage interview process. If we find the right person, we may close the advert early.
