Job Description
Role Purpose:
The Credit Review department are asked to provide reasonable assurance regarding the accuracy of the Obligor and Facility grades as well as the Borrower’s Category which are assigned to the Bank’s credit related Obligors. These are proposed by Front Office (FO) departments and approved mainly by Credit Department (CD).
Credit Review department activities include Continuous Review, On-site Review, Branch Credit Review, Self-Assessment (SA) Classification Review and Discounted Cash Flow (DCF) Reviews.
Search Criteria:
- Min. 4-5 years in a Credit Analysis, Credit Rating or Credit Review, Credit Sanctioning role (where the role involves rating and grading Corporate clients and companies from a credit perspective, rather than approving lending decisions). Candidates must understanding how the rating process works
- Work experience from a corporate/commercial banking environment or a ratings agency.
- Credit experience in corporate banking, gained in major European or global banks, is essential to demonstrate a good understanding of large and global corporate credits.
- Good knowledge in corporate banking products and sound credit analysis skills including good accounting knowledge are essential.
- Good communication and excellent written skills, specifically concise writing, are essential to efficiently complete reviews, prepare reports / document findings and communicate with key stakeholders and management.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Review assigned credit applications to ensure accuracy of the Obligor as well as Borrower’s category (if applicable).
- Discuss issues found and raise questions with Front Office person in charge when clarifications are required to complete the credit reviews.
- Discuss and agree with the Credit Review Partner findings and recommendations that need to be raised.
- Submit reviews including recommendations and other findings to Credit Review Partner for approval.
- Undertake the follow-up and closure of any recommendations raised.
- Complete any other ad-hoc tasks assigned by Credit Review Partner including Self-Assessment Classification Review or DCF Review.
- Deputise for Credit Review Partner in 1) attending Special Credit Review (SCR) meetings as observer; 2) arranging and chairing periodic meetings with stakeholders.
- Take part in Audit Department’s Front Office onsite audits.
