Founded in 2008, the firm offers a fresh approach to wealth management, providing a transparent, bespoke service tailored to the needs of private clients across the UK, US, and Jersey. The business contributes to and implements the house view of LGT Wealth Management within client portfolios. It undertakes portfolio management, investment analysis, and relationship management, ensuring the High Net Worth community benefits from a robust investment process. The Central Investment Team delivers both model‐based and bespoke discretionary service, managing portfolios daily, assisting in business acquisition, and contributing to the central research process and various committees.
Brief Role Objective
- Communications: contribute written and verbal investment communication for external and internal clients.
- Investment Strategy: provide investment analysis and strategy for the team, business and clients.
- Operational and Team tasks: support portfolio operations, trade implementation and act as a collaborative team member.
Key Responsibilities
- Communications – write portfolio strategy communications for monthly and quarterly outputs.
- Assist in creating outlook and portfolio strategy slides periodically.
- Dependent on experience, attend client meetings individually or with a senior colleague.
- Present portfolio and market analysis at monthly internal meetings.
- Investment Strategy – provide portfolio and market analysis proactively and on request.
- Take ownership of a portfolio tactical position and deliver analysis and commentary to clients and the investment committee.
- Assist in preparing materials for the investment committee.
- Operational tasks – monitor and maintain a portfolio list, including daily cash management and routine model‐change trades.
- Manage tailored client criteria within portfolios in line with house views.
- Assist in maintaining central models.
- Support the team with project work and ad‐hoc tasks.
Key Skills and Technical Requirements
- In‐depth understanding of all asset classes and portfolio construction in the wealth and asset‐management industry.
- Knowledge of market cycles, drivers and characteristics, applied to portfolio management and positioning.
- Experience in multi‐asset portfolio construction and risk management, with a sustained framework behind the investment process.
- Strong communication skills to articulate portfolio and trade objectives at both high and nuanced levels to internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience trading major asset classes within private client portfolios.
- 5+ years' experience within a similar role is desirable.
Other Skills and Attributes
- Relevant industry qualifications (including but not limited to IMC or CFA) are essential.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships within the Research Team and across Wealth/Investment Manager desks.
- Excellent organisation, time‐management and deadline delivery.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills in portfolio management.
- Attention to detail in dealing, reporting and sending documentation to clients.
- Proactive support of team objectives and initiative within an established framework of scope and authority.
- Professional conduct, acting as an ambassador to the Firm and complying with LGT's policies and procedures.
- Entrepreneurial, self‐motivated and target‐driven with the capability to work under pressure.
