The Business Development team is responsible for promoting the Firm to the IFA community as a whole.

Brief Role Objective

To deliver predominantly telephone-based support to the lead Business Development Directors in the promotion of LGT Wealth Management UK LLP to the intermediary market, with the objective of increasing the firm’s Assets under Management (AUM). The role will act as an ambassador for the firm, proactively developing and maintaining intermediary relationships through regular telephone contact, handling enquiries and supporting business development activity in line with the firm’s strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Promote and communicate LGT Wealth Management UK LLP’s business development strategy to intermediaries through proactive telephone contact, structured follow-up and ongoing relationship management, presenting the firm’s proposition clearly, maintaining regular contact with priority intermediary firms and aligning discussions with the wider Business Development team’s objectives.
  • Proactively support the generation of Assets under Management (AUM) from the intermediary sector, in line with targets agreed with the Head of Business Development.
  • Assist the Business Development Director in generating new business opportunities and developing new intermediary contacts through outbound calling and relationship-building activity, in line with the team’s strategy and plans.
  • Support the Business Development Director in promoting LGT Wealth Management UK LLP to IFAs and other intermediaries who influence the buying decision.
  • Introduce Investment Managers to relevant intermediary contacts and refer opportunities internally or externally where appropriate to strengthen relationships and support business growth. This includes coordinating follow-up activity, ensuring introductions are timely and appropriate.
  • Research market developments, competitor activity and intermediary feedback to identify potential areas of growth and support the development of new business initiatives.

  • Thorough understanding of internal and external systems.
  • Proficient levels of Microsoft Office skills especially Excel, Word & PowerPoint.
  • Keep abreast of developments in the financial industry along with any regulatory changes.

  • Work towards an approved level 4 qualification to gain diploma status.

  • Maintain close control during the pitch process and on occasion run Client accounts directly.
