Limagrain is one of Europe’s leaders in maize, wheat, barley, oilseed rape and sunflower seeds available in more than 50 countries.
Person Specification: We are looking for someone with a HND/HNC or above in Agriculture or a related subject. Previous experience in agriculture/horticulture including certificates PA1, PA2, PA4, PA6 and PA11 would be a distinct advantage. Familiarity with MS Office or similar. A full, clean driving licence is essential. Legal right to work in the UK required, as we are unable to sponsor this position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for all wheat breeding trials co-ordinated from the Woolpit site.
- Organisation of cleaning, treating and sampling seed for drilling.
- Planning fields, designing trials, arranging trial layouts and drilling trials.
- Assessment of disease and other agronomic traits (travel within the UK will be required).
- Input and validation of all trials data.
- Co-ordination of trials harvest & drilling activities.
- Co-ordination of locally contracted official trials through BSPB and ADHB.
- Supervision of temporary staff as required to complete the major tasks.
- Maintain knowledge of current best practice in agronomy and field trials.
- Overtime will be likely during peak periods.
- Assist in other aspects of the breeding programme as required.
