LGS Vision Recruitment are supporting a firm of accountants with a Tax Assistant position. This is a great opportunity to join a supportive and growing team.

Role:

  • Preparing self-assessment tax returns and accounts
  • Carrying out analysis, calculations, and submissions to HMRC
  • Dealing with queries and correspondence with HMRC
  • Managing Making Tax Digital (MTD) processes, including setting up clients on software
  • Chasing client paperwork and completing quarterly returns
  • Reviewing and implementing systems to improve efficiency
  • Client invoicing, payment tracking, and credit control for self-assessment clients
  • Holding client meetings to provide tax planning advice and support
  • Completing accounts during face-to-face client meetings where required

Ideal Candidate:

  • Tax experience within a practice
  • Preferably Bookkeeping and VAT skills/experience
  • Personable with a good telephone manner
  • Confident communicating with clients both over the phone and face to face
  • Comfortable holding client meetings, including advising on ways to reduce tax liabilities
  • Able to conduct face-to-face meetings where accounts may be completed with the client present
  • Adaptable when working with a variety of clients
  • Experience using IRIS and Xero
  • Strong multitasking abilities
