Join LGPS Central at a pivotal moment, where investment meets long-term impact. This role supports the delivery of advisory services to Partner Funds, working closely with the Client Advisory Managers and Client Advisory Directors to satisfy Partner Fund needs. The role focuses on drafting strategic advice, collating supporting materials, and contributing to high-quality, evidence-based client deliverables.
What you’ll be doing:
- Draft initial investment advice, including strategic asset allocation and portfolio positioning
- Use of asset-liability modelling to develop strategic asset allocations for client portfolios
- Collate supporting research, analysis and data for advisory recommendations
- Use Bloomberg to retrieve data for funds and indices
- Prepare client papers, slide decks, and briefing materials
- Support the Client Services team prepare for meetings including agendas, packs, and minutes
- Maintain accurate records of advice, assumptions, and supporting evidence
- Assist in development of advisory frameworks, tools and templates
- Work with internal teams to gather inputs across strategy, portfolio and operations
- Support responses to client queries and ad-hoc requests
- Contribute to transition planning and tracking where required
- Identify areas for process improvement
About Us
LGPS Central (LGPSC) Ltd is the FCA regulated asset manager for fourteen local authority pension funds across the Midlands. LGPSC is jointly owned on an equal shares basis by those Partner Funds, and it is responsible for managing £100bn+ of their assets. It is one of six Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) asset pools in the UK.
Requirements
- Institutional Investment Understanding: Basic knowledge of multi-asset investing and portfolio construction
- Analytical Skills: Ability to interpret data and support investment decision-making
- Research Capability: Able to gather and synthesise information from multiple sources
- Communication: Clear written and verbal communication, particularly for drafting client advice
- Organisation: Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
- Systems: Familiarity with Excel, Bloomberg and investment data sources
Qualifications:
- Degree level or equivalent
- IMC – Desirable but not essential at this stage
- CFA - Desirable but not essential at this stage
The successful candidate should show a willingness to study towards relevant professional qualifications.
