The Asset Transitions Manager will manage the planning, governance, delivery, reporting and coordination of fund launch and asset transition activity within LGPS Central.
The postholder will work collaboratively with the wider transition team and internal/external stakeholders to manage the successful delivery of transitions.
This role provides structure and consistency across transition activities, ensuring plans, RAID logs, action trackers, governance packs and reporting are maintained to a high standard, whilst managing the delivery of the fund launches and transitions.

What you’ll be doing
- Manage the planning, coordination and delivery of fund launches and asset transition activity.
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders on the planning, scheduling and delivery of fund launch and asset transition activity.
- Support the definition of transition scope, deliverables, dependencies, milestones, readiness criteria and implementation requirements.
- Prepare regular reports and updates for Committees, governance forums, transition meetings and Client meetings, demonstrating good attention to detail and accuracy.
- Facilitate planning meetings, readiness reviews and implementation meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
- Facilitate meetings with Clients ensuring supporting documentation is clear, precise and fit for purpose.
- Establish clear requirements, deliverables, roles and responsibilities with third parties to ensure alignment with LGPSC governance, operating model and control requirements.
- Maintain detailed plans, action logs, RAID logs, issue trackers, decision logs and readiness documentation.
- Troubleshoot and resolve a variety of transition, operational and process issues, escalating where appropriate.
- Identify risks, issues, assumptions and dependencies, supporting the formulation and tracking of mitigating or resolving actions.
- Assurance – ensuring all programme documentation is in place for internal and external audit reviews, governance checkpoints and compliance requirements.
- Support operational readiness activity, including readiness assessments, implementation checklists, control reviews and post-transition lessons learned.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of fund launch and asset transition processes, templates, controls and reporting standards.

Requirements
Essential
- 5+ years’ experience working in a project management role, ideally within a professional, financial services, or regulated environment.
- Highly organised, able to prioritise effectively and to work accurately towards deadlines across multiple concurrent activities.
- Excellent IT and MS Office skills including Excel, Power Point, Word and knowledge of project planning tools such as MS Project.
- First class interpersonal and communication skills to work across teams.
- Ability to work with multiple dependencies and time-critical activities, escalating risks and issues appropriately.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with confidence engaging stakeholders at all levels.
- Excellent organisational skills.
- Experience of action logging, issue tracking, risk management and tracking activities through to completion.
- Effective time management – manages personal workload effectively, has the ability to work under pressure and sets realistic and achievable targets and delivers to those targets.
- Effectively challenge stakeholders for activities related to delivery.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality documentation suitable for senior governance and client-facing forums.
Desirable
- Experience managing asset transitions, fund launches, investment change or operational readiness activity in financial services, pensions, or asset management.
- Track record of engaging portfolio managers and external stakeholders.
- Understanding of asset transitions, portfolio onboarding, fund launches, custody arrangements, investment operations and operational readiness desirable.
- Understanding of benefits tracking and post-project review processes.
- Worked in Financial Services, ideally Investment Management.
Qualifications
- Degree level or equivalent
- PRINCE2 Foundation or equivalent project management qualification desirable.
- Investment operations, asset management or pensions-related qualification desirable but not essential.
