What You'll Be Doing
As our Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you'll play a key role in keeping projects commercially successful from start to finish. Working alongside Project Managers, suppliers, and senior commercial colleagues, you'll help ensure every project is delivered on budget, on time, and to the highest standards.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with project cost estimates, budgets, and valuations
- Supporting the procurement of subcontractors and suppliers
- Building strong supplier relationships and negotiating competitive rates
- Monitoring project costs and identifying savings opportunities
- Preparing purchase orders, invoices, and financial documentation
- Supporting the management of contracts and variations
- Conducting site visits to track progress and ensure compliance
- Preparing commercial reports and maintaining accurate project records
- Collaborating with project teams to support successful project delivery

What You'll Bring
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field
- Previous Quantity Surveying experience, either through employment, placement year, or apprenticeship
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Experience within hotel, hospitality, residential, or refurbishment projects li>
- Knowledge of construction contracts and procurement processes
- Familiarity with cost estimation and project management software
