Protecting our assets. Governing our standards.

As our property portfolio continues to evolve — including new lease arrangements with partners such as OYO and others — the need for strong governance, clear accountability and robust oversight has never been more critical.

We are seeking a Head of Compliance and Asset Governance to take strategic and operational ownership of how our assets are managed, protected and kept compliant. This is a senior, highly trusted role with real influence across our estate.

The Role

Reporting into senior leadership, this role provides end‐to‐end oversight of asset performance, compliance and governance across our leased and managed properties. You will act as the organisation's authority on standards, risk and assurance — ensuring issues are identified early, addressed decisively and escalated appropriately when required.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading quarterly asset inspections, producing clear, evidence‐based reporting and actionable recommendations
  • Issuing notices and managing escalation where concerns arise regarding asset management or operational standards
  • Providing robust governance and oversight of leased properties, particularly under third‐party operating agreements
  • Owning all aspects of statutory compliance and reporting, ensuring obligations are fully met and auditable
  • Conducting audits, SLA reviews and competence checks across contractor and supplier partners
  • Holding partners to account while maintaining professional, effective working relationships

Why This Role Matters

This position plays a critical role in protecting asset value, reducing risk and safeguarding the reputation of the business. You will ensure governance frameworks are applied consistently and that compliance is not simply documented — but lived.

About You

You are structured, confident and commercially astute, with the credibility to challenge where required and the judgement to know when to escalate. You will likely bring:

  • Senior experience in compliance, asset management, property governance or facilities oversight
  • Strong knowledge of statutory compliance and contractor assurance
  • A proven ability to identify risk, enforce standards and drive remedial action
  • Excellent attention to detail, backed by pragmatic decision‐making
  • Clear communication skills and confidence in engaging with senior stakeholders
