The Opportunity

A hotel can only deliver a great guest experience when the environment feels safe, comfortable, and dependable. As Maintenance Supervisor, you’ll play a key role in making sure that happens—often behind the scenes, but always with real impact. We’re looking for a skilled and organised Maintenance Supervisor to oversee daily maintenance activity, support the team, and ensure issues are resolved quickly and effectively. This is a hands‑on leadership role for someone who enjoys problem‑solving, structure, and taking pride in a job done properly.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

  • Day-to-Day Maintenance Leadership
    • Oversee daily maintenance operations, ensuring tasks are prioritised, completed on time, and delivered to a high standard.
    • Coordinate rotas, assign work, and provide clear direction to the maintenance team.
    • Act as the first point of escalation for maintenance issues, responding calmly and efficiently.
  • Preventative Maintenance & Standards
    • Support the development and delivery of preventative maintenance programmes to reduce breakdowns and disruption.
    • Carry out regular inspections of facilities and equipment, identifying issues early and ensuring swift resolution.
  • Safety, Compliance & Care
    • Ensure all maintenance work is carried out safely and in line with health & safety legislation and hotel procedures.
    • Promote a culture of care, responsibility, and attention to detail across the team.
  • Managing Resources Responsibly
    • Monitor energy usage and help introduce energy‑saving initiatives where possible.
    • Support budget management for maintenance and repairs, ensuring cost‑effective decisions without compromising quality.
    • Liaise with contractors and suppliers, ensuring work is completed to standard, on time, and within budget.
  • Communication & Development
    • Maintain accurate records of work completed, costs, and parts used.
    • Provide regular updates and reports to senior management on maintenance activity and emerging issues.
    • Assist with the recruitment, training, and ongoing development of maintenance colleagues.

Benefits

  • Employee discounts on bedroom rates across the LGH hotel portfolio.
  • Access to the IHG Employee Room Benefit Programme across their global portfolio.
  • Access to 24/7 Employee Assistance Programme for support and advice.
  • Refer a friend scheme from £500 to £1000 per referral.

  • Employee Discount Schemes – 100s of discounts on various services.
  • Pension Scheme.
  • Free meals on duty.
  • Cycle to Work schemes to help employees save money and keep fit.

Who This Role Is For

This role is ideal for someone who:

  • Enjoys being hands‑on and close to day‑to‑day operations.
  • Takes pride in creating safe, tidy, well‑functioning environments.
  • Is naturally organised, practical, and calm when problems arise.
  • Likes supporting others—sharing knowledge, setting standards, and building confidence.
  • Gains satisfaction from preventing issues rather than constantly reacting to them.
  • Wants responsibility without needing to be the most senior person in the room.
