General Manager – voco St David’s Cardiff
This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned leader to step into the role of General Manager on a 12 month fixed-term contract at the iconic property, voco St. Davids Cardiff. You will manage the day-to-day leadership and direction of the hotel, maximising on sales and revenue and driving financial returns. You’ll take ownership of the development of your people, execute on brand standards, and build awareness of the hotel and brand within the local area.
Set on Cardiff Bay\’s waterfront, voco St David\’s Cardiff makes a bold statement, with its glass-fronted façade, private balconies, floor-to-ceiling windows, and coastal setting. The Tir a Môr at voco St David’s Cardiff is our eclectic restaurant and bar. Our bold flavours draw inspiration from world food cultures and blend perfectly with the best seasonal produce Wales has to offer. The Spa, located in the hotel, offers just the place to unwind and has been voted one of the best spas in the UK. voco St David\’s Cardiff is a wonderful setting for meetings, conferences, weddings, and celebrations alike.
You will need proven expertise in how you deliver a true guest experience alongside knowing how to position the brand in the market. You will be highly innovative and creative and able to drive and seek out opportunities to maximise commercial performance and owner returns.
You will be a natural people leader, able to build trusting relationships that encourages and motivates your workforce. You will develop a culture of innovation alongside your team and be commercially focused, with a futuristic vision in line with the significant developments that are ongoing in the region.
You will be responsible for:
- Building authentic relationships with guests and the community, championing local culture and infuse it into the guest journey.
- Assembling and developing a high-performing, motivated team. You will lead and inspire the team to deliver above-and-beyond experiences.
- Balancing hands-on leadership with strategic delegation, as well as being present, human, and approachable in your leadership style.
- Be a commercial entrepreneur, embrace creativity and ambiguity as opportunities, and leverage Cardiff’s leisure and lifestyle appeal to drive performance. You will champion non-tradition approaches that align with our brand ethos.
- Fostering meaningful internal and external relationships, with community-focused initiatives and supporting sustainability.
