The Role
We are looking for a hands‑on Warehouse Manager to lead the day-to-day running of our busy warehouse operation.
This role is responsible for ensuring stock is received, organised, picked, packed and dispatched accurately and efficiently, while maintaining high standards across the department.
The Warehouse Manager will also take ownership of the upkeep and continuous improvement of our back‑of‑house operation, ensuring our warehouse facilities, stockrooms and packing areas remain safe, organised and efficient.
In addition, the role will provide line management and light‑touch oversight of the customer service function through an established Customer Service Supervisor, ensuring continuity during holidays, absence and peak trading periods.
The successful candidate will lead by example, develop their team, improve operational processes and take ownership of creating an efficient, safe and well‑organised back‑of‑house environment that supports the wider business.
What will you do?
- Warehouse Operations
- Manage the smooth day-to-day running of the warehouse operation.
- Oversee goods in, put‑away, replenishment, picking, packing and dispatch.
- Ensure all stock is accurately booked into the system.
- Ensure customer orders are picked, packed and dispatched accurately and on time.
- Maintain high standards of organisation, housekeeping and efficiency throughout the warehouse.
- Prioritise workload effectively during busy trading periods.
- Identify and resolve operational issues quickly and effectively.
- Team Management
- Lead, motivate and develop the warehouse team.
- Allocate daily tasks and monitor team productivity.
- Support recruitment, onboarding and training of new colleagues.
- Manage attendance, performance and conduct in line with Company policies.
- Build a positive, hardworking and accountable team culture.
- Carry out regular one‑to‑one meetings and performance reviews.
- Stock Control
- Maintain high standards of stock accuracy.
- Investigate discrepancies, damages and missing stock.
- Lead regular stock counts and cycle counting programmes.
- Ensure all stock movements are processed accurately and promptly.
- Work closely with Buying and Retail teams to resolve stock‑related issues.
- Customer Service Oversight
- Provide line management support to the Customer Service Supervisor.
- Ensure continuity of service during holidays and periods of absence.
- Support the resolution of escalated customer enquiries where required.
- Review service standards and workload periodically.
- Encourage strong communication between the warehouse and customer service teams.
- Facilities & Operational Projects
- Take ownership of the maintenance, organisation and presentation of all back‑of‑house areas, including the warehouse, stockrooms, packing room and colleague facilities.
- Coordinate routine building maintenance and repairs with approved contractors and internal departments.
- Ensure warehouse equipment and operational assets are maintained, safe and fit for purpose.
- Identify opportunities to improve storage, layout, equipment and operational efficiency.
- Lead and support warehouse and operational improvement projects from planning through to implementation.
- Work with the Head of Operations & COO to deliver operational improvement initiatives across the business.
- Cross Functional Support
- Work closely with Store, Buying, Ecommerce and Finance teams.
- Ensure timely replenishment of stock to the shop floor.
- Support company priorities during peak trading periods.
- Help resolve fulfilment, stock and operational issues promptly.
- Continuous Improvement
- Continually review warehouse processes and ways of working.
- Identify opportunities to improve productivity, accuracy and efficiency.
- Recommend and implement practical operational improvements.
- Monitor key operational performance and identify areas for development.
- Health & Safety
- Ensure safe working practices are followed at all times.
- Maintain high housekeeping standards across all back‑of‑house areas.
- Conduct regular inspections to identify and resolve maintenance, safety or compliance issues.
- Ensure warehouse equipment is used safely and maintained appropriately.
- Report and address hazards, accidents and near misses promptly.
- Promote a strong health and safety culture across the team.
