LGC ASSURE Sports & Specialised Analytical Services is an internationally recognised world‑class testing laboratory that specialises in banned substance and anti‑doping testing. We operate in three key categories: animal sports medication and doping control, human drug testing, and supplement testing and product certification.
We have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated, proactive scientist to join our Animal Sports team! As part of our team, you will deliver a high‑quality analytical chemistry service to leading national and international sports and-method organisations. This includes:
- Supporting and delivering analytical work under established methods and supervision (sample extraction and detection) in accordance with the requirements of ISO17025
- Supporting routine maintenance and operation of analytical instrumentation (including mass spectrometers)
- Learning to interpret analytical data and contribute to reporting of results
We’re looking for a teammate who works flexibly, shows initiative, and brings forward new ideas. You’re hardworking with a positive attitude, manage your time efficiently, and ensure tasks are completed on schedule to a high standard. This role is well suited to a recent graduate or someone in their first or second industry role, with training and support provided.
Qualifications
- Educated to degree level in a biological or chemical science
- Knowledge of mass spectrometry (academic or industry experience)
- Excellent laboratory skills
- Exposure to GC‑MS / LC‑MS desirable but not essential
