LGC ASSURE Sports & Specialised Analytical Services is an internationally recognised world‑class testing laboratory that specialises in banned substance and anti‑doping testing. We operate in 3 key categories: Animal sports medication and doping control, Human drug testing, and Supplement testing and product certification.

We have an opportunity for an Analytical Chemist to join our dynamic Supplements and Feeds team. Based in Fordham, Cambridgeshire, you will engage in innovative analysis on a diverse range of product matrices. You will play a pivotal role in testing products for substances prohibited in sport and verifying key nutritional parameters such as protein content. Our testing and "Informed" certification programmes support elite athletes, manufacturers, and general consumers, ensuring outstanding standards of quality and safety.

Responsibilities

  • Performing extraction techniques – Solid phase extraction, liquid/liquid and automated liquid handling.
  • Using high‑spec analytical instrumentation for chromatography and mass spectrometry – GC‑MS/MS, LC‑MS/MS and HRAM.
  • Performing instrumental analysis to verify protein content.
  • Data analysis and review using TraceFinder and Masshunter applications.
  • Strictly adhering to protocols within an ISO17025 accredited laboratory.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of BSc in Chemistry (or equivalent experience) – graduates are welcome to apply.
  • Proven experience with LC‑MS and GC‑MS techniques.
  • Experience with high‑resolution accurate mass (HRAM) is desirable.
  • Familiarity with ISO 17025/GLP standards is desirable.
  • Experience of working in a food testing or analytical laboratory would be advantageous.
