Shape the commercial future of a globally recognised certification brand.

BRCGS is a market-leading global brand that helps build trust in the supply chain. For nearly 30 years, we’ve set the benchmark for good manufacturing practice. Our Global Standards provide assurance that products are safe, legal and high quality, and our reputation for excellence spans both the food & beverage and consumer product sectors.

Job Description

We’re seeking a Head of Commercial to lead the next phase of growth – shaping strategy, strengthening our market position, and driving sustainable, profitable revenue across a complex, global ecosystem.

This is a high-impact leadership role, working closely with the Managing Director and senior leadership team to evolve how we go to market and accelerate performance.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll sit at the centre of our commercial model – connecting market insight, customer needs and commercial delivery.

  • Define and deliver the commercial strategy for BRCGS, aligned to business goals and market trends
  • Shape and evolve our global go-to-market approach
  • Translate market insight into clear, actionable growth plans

Drive revenue and performance

  • Own revenue, margin and budget delivery
  • Build strong forecasting discipline and pipeline visibility
  • Focus on sustainable growth – not short-term wins
  • Lead business development across the BRCGS portfolio
  • Build a high-performing sales and account management function
  • Improve conversion, retention and long-term customer value
  • Lead engagement across both sides of the ecosystem:
    • Buy-side: retailers, brand owners, demand drivers
    • Sell-side: certification bodies and delivery partners
  • Increase influence, demand and market pull-through

Build partnerships and new routes to market

  • Own and evolve the partner strategy across certification bodies
  • Identify new commercial models, channels and opportunities for growth

Work cross-functionally to unlock growth

  • Partner closely with Marketing to strengthen demand generation and thought leadership
  • Collaborate with Standards, Technical and Digital teams to ensure relevance in a fast-changing market
  • Align with Operations to drive better insight, systems and performance

Lead and grow the team

  • Build and develop a high-performing commercial organisation
  • Create a culture of accountability, pace and clarity
  • Coach leaders and scale capability as the business grows

What success looks like

  • A clear, credible commercial strategy that drives growth
  • Strong revenue and margin performance, underpinned by robust forecasting
  • Increased market visibility and demand for BRCGS services
  • A high-performing, scalable commercial team
  • Strong relationships across customers, partners and the wider ecosystem

Qualifications

What we’re looking for

You’re a senior commercial leader who knows how to turn strategy into growth – ideally in a certification, assurance, services or complex B2B environment.

Experience

  • Track record of leading commercial strategy and delivering growth
  • Experience operating across multiple customer groups, channels or markets
  • Background in certification, assurance or adjacent sectors is highly valuable

Skills

  • Strong commercial judgement and critical thinking
  • Expertise across sales, account management, partnerships and go-to-market
  • Ability to work alongside Marketing to convert brand and insight into demand
  • Strong forecasting, planning and performance management capability
  • Confident stakeholder leader in a matrix environment

Leadership style

  • Clear, strategic and externally focused
  • Ambitious, but focused on execution
  • Builds strong teams with accountability and energy
  • Collaborative and credible across functions
