Position Overview
Neuberger is looking for a motivated and ambitious student or recent graduate to join our EMEA Fixed Income Client Portfolio Management (CPM) team in London as a paid trainee for a 12-month placement.
The EMEA FI CPM team serves as a critical link between the firm’s Fixed Income investment platform and its clients and internal stakeholders across the region, acting as subject matter experts across Investment Grade, Non‑Investment Grade, Multi‑Sector and European Fixed Income strategies.
The team partners closely with Client Coverage, Marketing, Product Development, Performance Analytics and Legal & Compliance to represent Neuberger’s fixed income capabilities to institutional and intermediary clients across EMEA.
This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands‑on experience within a fast‑paced, global investment management environment, working day‑to‑day alongside senior Client Portfolio Managers and Specialists.
For the right candidate, strong performance during the traineeship could lead to a permanent role within the team.
- Primary Responsibilities
- The trainee will provide day‑to‑day support to the EMEA FI CPM team across the following areas:
- Support the team in preparing materials for client investment reviews, consultant due diligence meetings, new business presentations and finals.
- Assist with drafting and updating marketing materials, market commentary, white papers and newsletters covering Neuberger’s Investment Grade, Non‑Investment Grade, Multi‑Sector and European Fixed Income strategies.
- Help maintain and update RFP/DDQ content libraries, assisting with accurate, well‑written responses to new mandate opportunities and client questionnaires.
- Support monitoring of performance, market developments and competitor positioning across the Fixed Income product range.
- Assist in preparing presentation decks and briefing materials for conferences, client meetings and internal stakeholders.
- Liaise with internal departments, including Marketing, Product Development, Performance Analytics and Legal & Compliance, to help coordinate materials and campaign ideas.
- Assist with the compilation and analysis of Fixed Income market and portfolio data to support internal reporting and client communications.
- Provide general day‑to‑day administrative and organizational support to the EMEA FI CPM team, including scheduling, data compilation and ad‑hoc project work.
- Key Requirements / Qualifications
- A demonstrable interest in fixed income markets and asset management.
- Currently pursuing a university degree or a recent graduate; flexible around degree discipline.
- Experience of interning/placement within the asset management industry.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- High level of accuracy and strong attention to detail.
- Highly organized, motivated and a self‑starter, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a global team.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Power Point, Word); proficiency in AI tools.
